Language: Most people of Shaghata speak Bengali dialect of Rangpur region with some similar accents of Bogra region. Many people of Char region, specially of the far eastern char areas, speak the dialect of Mymensing.

Gobindaganj Upazila is divided into Bhabaniganj Municipality and 17 union parishads: Darbasta, Fulbari, Gumaniganj, Harirampur, Kamardaha, Kamdia, Katabari, Kochasahar, Mahimaganj, Nakai, Rajahar, Rakhal Buruz, Sapmara, Shakhahar, Shalmara, Shibpur, and Taluk Kanupur.
